Set between a hypothetical historic center of provincial Italy and a nameless industrial zone, the film explores the solitary construction of a space of balance amid the conflicting impulses of human nature. Fiction emerges as the only means of engaging with existence, offering a way to forgive ourselves and dissolve the boundaries between wonder and disaster. Suspension becomes the lens through which we endure the torment of reality, inviting us to reconcile with its contradictions and complexities. A solitary endeavor, accompanied by words carved into the collective memory, forever in conflict between an oppressive past and nostalgia for the future.
The film was conceived during the creation of MARSHY, an environmental artwork by Eugenio Tibaldi, curated by Marcello Smarrelli. Commissioned for the 20th edition of the Ermanno Casoli Prize, it was realized at EMC FIME in Castelfidardo, Italy.
